Dining pieces get looked at for the length of a meal, which is longer than most furniture is ever studied. The patterned fronts in this collection (parquet, tile, checkerboard) are here because they hold up to that kind of attention.
Tile work is painted and fired in Jodhpur, then set into a rebate so it finishes flush with the frame. Parquet fronts are laid piece by piece and sanded as a single face, which is the only way the joints disappear.
